How do you breed parakeets and be sucessful?
okay so first, you shouldn't change the bedding, and it doesn't need to be moist either, and you shold change the bedding once the babies are about 2 weeks old. The momma bird needs suplements (you can get them at petsmart.) and as for handfeeding... its all your choice. Handfed birds will be friendlier but babies raised by their mother can be easily trained too... especially since they are parakeets. good luck and dont forget about weaning: heres all all inclusive guide: a href="http://birds.about.com/od/breedingbasics/p/parakeetbb.htm" rel="nofollow"http://birds.about.com/od/breedingbasics…/a Good Luck and I think its great you want to start breeding, just remember that some chicks will be girls and some will be boys, so unless you want inbreeding (which you dont ) then keep them separated.
