The US Air Force requires people to be able to see well without gles or contacts. Only recently have they allowed people that have had refractive surgery like LASIK. I think there are issues with breathing apparatus and they don't want to take the risk that a contact will come out during a mission. You have a pretty low prescription but chances are you wouldn't feel safe driving your car without it. You may be able to qualify with Ortho-K or LASIK. Talk to your recruiter to find out for sure.
